Welcome to winter. Once again the rain has had an impact on our play, but at least it wasn’t quite as bad as March and April. Mind you, nor does it dry out as quickly under the winter sun.
Interclub Matchplay was completed in June, and it was so good to see new winners. Wattle was won by Kooindah in a nail biting final round that was largely impacted by a splendid win by our Gosford ladies. Banksia had a fantastic clean sweep in the final round that saw a great overall win go to Morisset along with the Margin Shield. Congratulations to both Morisset and Kooindah and to all our ladies that represented our club so well.
Congratulations go to our new Foursomes Champions. Our new club champions are Sheena Asken and Di Thomlinson, and our new division II champions Lesley Gregory and Sandy Laybutt. It was an outstanding field that took on the challenge of foursomes and the weather thankfully played its part in making it a great day, not all great scores, but that’s part of the fun of foursomes.
The 3BBB v Par qualifying round for the Gwen Thompson Shield was played and we have 3 teams qualifying to represent Gosford in the District final to be played at Gosford on the 11th September. Our winning teams were: Chris Shaw, Leonie Casey and Glennis English: Sue Scobie, Kath Payn and Rosalie Dyer; Dawn Tromp, Lesley Gregory and Marianne Lanham. Congratulations and very good luck in September.
Thank you Ladies and good golfing
