At least the rains have gone and we have had to opportunity to play some golf. The course has suffered the ill effects of all the rain in that the greens have not responded as in previous years. The Course Superintendent and his staff are making every effort to rectify the situation. Some of the course is still very heavy and the greens staff have been very liberal with the white paint in making these areas GUR.
F Troop have been working on putting a border around the gardens at the Bush Toilets on the 6th and the rear of the 14th tee. This will now be a formed garden and members will be entitled to a free drop. Many thanks to F Troop who do and continue to do many great things around the course.
The mens’ Masters Pennants commences on Sunday 7th May at Morisset. We wish all the players great golfing and look forward to some positive results.
The Ladies pennant season has commenced and again wish all players every success.
The introduction of MiClub golfing system has been a great success with very positive feedback from all members. I had the opportunity to witness one group of men have 97 and 95 individual points after entering their cards. I thought this was quite unusual and after discussion with the two members it was discovered that they had entered their stableford score on the cards not the strokes. Hence one player had four holes in one.
The match committee is currently working on Reciprocal rights with other Golf Clubs. If any member has a suggestion of clubs we may approach please contact the Director of Golf.
