June already and here comes the cold weather. No complaints as May gave us some beautiful weather for golf.
Open Day on the 9th was very successful. The field was not as good as we would have hoped, but this did not detract from a great day. The trade table and raffles raised a very healthy sum for the District Charity. Thank you to all our fantastic members that contributed spent and of cause, helped out on the day. Many thanks also to the Lady Committee members that provided a very welcome morning tea prior to play. Last but certainly not least a big thank you to our very generous sponsor – Henry Kendall Gardens Retirement Village.
Congratulations to Sue Scobies’ Presidents team for a decisive win in the annual President v Captain’s Day. I am sure everyone noted how humble Sue was in victory. Enjoy it while you can Sue, the Captains’ team is out to get their revenge next year.
The 4BBB Knockout has just been concluded, congratulations go to Sheena Asken and Lynnie Bates for a very close and hard fought victory over Norma Cubis and Lyn Cruickshanks. A great standard of golf from both teams.
Interclub Match Play is almost at an end for 2017, and our two teams Banksia and Wattle have once again done us proud. Thank you to all those ladies that have represented Gosford so well and a massive thank you to our two team Captains – Bev Adams and Sheena Asken.
Our Foursomes Championships are coming up on the 27th June. A sheet for nominations is currently in the Ladies locker room. If you do not have a partner at this point, put your name down anyway as you never know who else may be looking for a game.
Good golfing.
