The Christmas period has been very steady with social players in spite of the weather as we experienced some very hot days. The one tee start on both Wednesday and Saturday works well for the morning players but tends to bank up as the day goes on particularly on the 3rd and 8th holes. The one tee start will be discussed with the Match Committee to see if it is still the best option especially now as the field size has dramatically increased as evident from the 243 players we had last Wednesday which is our biggest field for many years. With the increased size of the fields the issue of slow play is on the agenda so Graham and I have increased the frequency that we ranger to ensure that all players keep up with the group in front so everyone can enjoy their day.
Since I have been doing the cards I have noticed some things that some of the members are not doing which creates more work for us and ultimately holds up the presentation. These things include- 1/ Failure to put their scores into the computer 2/ Failure to put their score into the result section on the top right hand side of the card 3/ Failure to match up the score in the computer with the score on the card 4/ Taking too long for the last few groups to put their cards into the computer and the last groups not picking up the nearest the pins. In future if a card or score entry is in any way incomplete it may result in disqualification.
The pennant season is about to kick off and we wish all our players the very best of luck!
