F-TROOP REPORT –February 2017
February was a mixture of heat wave and rain and fortunately we were able to get through our Monday Projects without interruption of bad weather.
We are averaging 12/13 volunteers every Monday morning which helps to keep our projects rolling. More volunteers are always welcome as it shares the work load.
There has been a large amount of loose timber pick up around the course from the hot and windy weather. The wet weather washed down a lot more small rubbish that blocked fairways and drains so we have spent time clearing a lot of that and raking the tees.
Tree maintenance has continued with a lot of large fallen branches needing to be cut up and removed along with undercutting of overgrown trees.
Hedge maintenance has continued and trimming of shrubs where necessary.
Gardening maintenance has continued with weed removal and clearing of rubbish from the gardens.
Watering has necessary for the gardens in the early part of the month including the potted plants.
Some more weed removal was done on the fairways.
There have been some new donated plants have been added to the green space at the 14th bush toilets.
The wedding gazebo has been maintained including the large wedding garden.
A big thank you goes to our supporting members who have donated cash and plants for our gardens so that we can continue with our various projects.
Our thanks go to “Barto” for supplying our morning tea that he supplies every Monday Morning.
F-Troop meets at the green keepers shed at 7.00am on most Monday mornings with morning tea approximately 10.30am. Feel free to join us if you have 3 hours or so of time to volunteer your assistance. Casual helpers are also welcomed.
