The autumn weather has been more like summer with not a lot of rain or super cold days.
We have had a few of our volunteers away on holidays etc this month but still managed to average 12/13 every week which has allowed us to get some good work done.
Our projects have continued, including tree maintenance with the help of a professional lopper and mulching machine. A work in progress is the dismantling of a big shed and the completion of the storm shelter. These projects are in addition to our normal rubbish and loose timber pick up around the course.
Every week the paths around the clubhouse and 1st and 10th tees and practice nets are cleaned as well as the parking areas and BBQ garden. The Bush toilets are cleaned, hedge maintenance continued. We also continue to water the gardens and pots as well as removal of weed and rubbish in the gardens and front street garden as there has been little rain to keep the gardens and shrubs going.
Some of the plants that were removed from the 17th dog leg garden have been relocated to other gardens.
Our wood sales have continued and we have more timber ready for winter sales. Orders for this winter have been steady so get your wood order in early to Peter Martin to ensure you do not miss out.
If you have some free time on Monday mornings and you would like to contribute to our projects please contact Peter or Jan Martin. We generally work from 7.00 am until 10.30am with morning tea supplied by the club about 10.15 to 10.30 am. We are currently averaging more than 13 volunteers each week which is a big help towards speedy completion of our projects.
