During the month of July we welcomed another new F-Trooper – newly retired Andrew Henebury which has now boosted our numbers to enable us to carry out our projects by sharing the load. Our volunteers are now averaging 13 to 14 each week with last week’s number of volunteers reaching 16 which was pleasing to see.
The firewood sales have reached record levels. This has enabled us to purchase some much needed equipment and to do maintenance to our work utility. Preparation of more firewood has kept the team busy.
Tree maintenance has continued around the course when possible and a lot of loose timber and rubbish pick was done after some of the high winds experienced this month.
Hedge maintenance has continued and trimming of shrubs where necessary. The roses, crepe myrtles and hydrangeas have been pruned.
Gardening maintenance has continued with weed removal and watering when necessary. The BBQ area has continued to be maintained as well as the area around the clubhouse, 1st and 10th tees, Wedding Garden and Practice nets. A new Xanadu Garden area has been created between the wedding garden and the 1st tee thanks to a very generous donation of plants by Owen & Fran James. More camellias, azaleas and hydrangeas have been planted into our gardens.
Clubhouse maintenance, plumbing, and cleaning of the clubhouse gutters, regular cleaning of the bush toilets, clearing the creek at the 14th and marking of the car spaces in the car parks were among this month’s projects,
A big thank you goes to our supporting members who have donated cash and plants for our gardens so that we can continue with our various projects.
Our thanks go to “Barto” for supplying our morning tea that he supplies every Monday Morning.
F-Troop meets at the green keepers shed at 7.00am on most Monday mornings with morning tea approximately 10.15am. Feel free to join us if you have 3 hours or so of time to volunteer your assistance. Casual helpers are also welcomed.
