During the month of June the course had been a bit soggy and we were limited in what work we could do on the course with heavy equipment. The early morning starts have been a bit chilly but that has not deterred our volunteers this month and we have had good numbers each week to share the load.
We welcomed a new volunteer in Ron Gowing who is going to be a welcome support for our garden projects.
Loose timber and rubbish pickup has continued including raking up of the fallen autumn leaves which cause a problem with lost balls.
Tree maintenance has continued around the course when possible. The F-Troop shed area and the wood storage area have been cleaned up.
Mulching has been completed at the 14th green space and some mass planting of clivia and agapanthus have been done there and at the back of the 14th green thanks to a very generous donation of plants from Owen & Fran James. The drain at the 14th has been cleared of rubbish.
Hedge maintenance has continued and trimming of shrubs where necessary.
Gardening maintenance has continued with weed removal and a cleanup has been done down the side fence near the practice nets. The BBQ area has continued to be maintained as well as the area around the clubhouse and the stone wall at the 10th tee.
A big thank you goes to our supporting members who have donated cash and plants for our gardens so that we can continue with our various projects.
Firewood orders are coming in at a steady rate so if members require firewood for this winter, do get your orders in to Peter Martin to avoid disappointment. Our wood splitter has been working overtime to keep up with demand.
Our thanks go to “Barto” for supplying our morning tea that he supplies every Monday Morning.
F-Troop meets at the green keepers shed at 7.00am on most Monday mornings with morning tea approximately 10.15am. Feel free to join us if you have 3 hours or so of time to volunteer your assistance. Casual helpers are also welcomed.
