Mens Captain’s Report
Welcome to the December newsletter. With the festive season coming I would like this opportunity to wish all members a safe and happy holiday season.
December also marks the beginning of the warm weather and the start to amended timesheets. Members are reminded to take every precaution during the warmer months. Unfortunately because of Covid we are unable to provide sunscreen at the 1st and 10th tees.
The December/January period brings amended timesheets to allow for the holiday social golf. From the 16th January there will be social play allowed in vacant competition timeslots. Members are reminded to treat these visitors cordially and make sure they come back to enjoy our great course.
The time sheet for Wednesdays and Saturdays will be two tee in morning and one tee for the later tee times.
At the time of writing there has been no advice from Health NSW, Golf Australia or Golf NSW regarding the changing to current requirements. With the borders opening and the change to numbers at gatherings there may be some changes in the future. I will keep you all informed of any changes.g the handicap event.
The Mens CCDGA pennants will resume in December/January to complete the 2020 programme. The 2021 programme will commence at the end of January with nomination forms for A,B,C and juniors now on the Proshop notice board. These nominations will close on the 16th January which is also the cut off point for handicap eligibility. A grade up to 12.4, B Grade up to 1.4 and C Grade above 18.4.
Work is continuing on the 6th fairway and 7th tee which we hope to complete shortly. Green renovations have been completed And fairways have been sliced and fertilised.
Members are advised the fixtures book will no longer be printed. All fixtures will be on the MiClub Website
When on the course members are reminded of the following

Ladies Captain’s Report
I think it’s fair to say that most of us will not be sorry\ to see the end of 2020. Hopefully 2021 will allow for the smooth running of our golfing programme.
The CCWGA sponsored day on the 10th of November was a success. We had a good field and trophies went down to 7th place thanks to the generous donations from the District. Funds from the raffle were donated to the CCWGA nominated charity, Lifeline.
The popular Top Ten Shootout was played on the 17th of November in perfect conditions. Kay Baillie was the winner and Helen Stuart was runner-up. The standard of golf was amazing & all the qualifiers are to be congratulated. Unfortunately due to the Covid restrictions only the players, caddies and committee were allowed on course, however the atmosphere was great and I encourage everyone to enter this fun competition in 2021.
The events on the 1st and 3rd of December have hams on offer for the winners. These have been kindly donated by the Club. Please put your names down for these events.
We close the year on the 8th of December with the North Pole Ambrose which will be followed by our Christmas lunch and the 2020 presentation of trophies. It promises to be a happy day thanks to our President Liz Robinson who, despite many challenges along the way never gave up on her plan to give the Gosford Ladies a wonderful finale to the year. Thank you Liz! We have 24 teams playing golf and we look forward to seeing everyone in their festive outfits.
The Summer Competition will take place over December and January and I look forward to welcoming everyone at Opening Day on Tuesday the 2nd of February 2021.
On behalf of the Ladies Section and the members I extend my sincere thanks to the Board of Directors, Kieran Moran, the Pro Shop, the staff in the Office, the Bar and Bistro staff and Dave Nicholls the Greenkeeper and his team, for their hard work throughout the year. Thank you to the wonderful F Troop volunteers for all they do around the course and to Jan Martin for her wonderful newsy blog.
Although the golf programme was much modified this year, the number of ladies playing regularly has been encouraging. We are also pleased to welcome all our new Lady members, the majority of whom have come through the Rookies set up.
2020 has been a challenging year but we have survived & hopefully next year will be easier. I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and good golfing in the New Year.
