During the month of August the weather continued with the chilly morning starts but our volunteer support remained solid even with some of our regulars away on holidays.
Tree maintenance and undercutting has continued with additional work done clearing the fence line along the 2nd fairway and cutting fallen timber into manageable sizes for wood splitting. A highlight for this month was purchasing a wood splitting machine.
Thank you to our supporting members who enabled us to purchase this machine from firewood sales. We dismantled a garden bed of treated pine garden boards donated by Alan and Marianne Lanham and transported it to the course for future use in maintaining our garden edges. Thank you Alan & Marianne!
We created a paved square at the front lawn for the table and chairs donated by Vicki Foster’s mother Margaret. Thank you Margaret!
All the hedges are steadily being maintained as required and some of the tibouchinas have been trimmed. The front lawn area outside the club has been mowed. Repairs have been made to the fence along the 18th fairway. Repairs were done to the damaged garden at the 17th green.
General garden maintenance has continued with gardens at the 1st and 10th, 2nd tee, wedding garden and around the putting green have been mulched. The BBQ area has been maintained general rubbish pickup around the course and tidying up around the clubhouse and 1st and 10th tees. Tidying the car parks has continued as well as clubhouse maintenance as required.
Our thanks go to “Barto” for our sumptuous morning teas that he supplies every Monday Morning and many thanks to our supporting members for donations of plants and cash to support our projects.
F-Troop meets at the green keepers shed at 7.00am on most Monday mornings with morning tea approximately 10.30am. Feel free to join us if you have 3 hours or so of time to volunteer your assistance. Casual helpers are also welcomed.
