February was a pleasing month overall. Whilst our net profit was slightly down on last year for the month, our year to date net profit is up by 74%. In the food and beverage department, the bars performed quite well up by 24%. The standout this month was the food and functions department it was up almost 300%.
The recent wet weather has affected March greatly but we are still in a strong position for this financial year. On the course I think the course staff have handled the extreme weather conditions well, we have gone from drought to flood. Whilst it is really wet under foot the money spent in previous years on drainage is really paying off.
In the Pro Shop the install of MiClub, the new golfing software is working well. Please give feedback over the next few weeks so we can tweak the system to make it even better.
The Tea Off kiosk is now operational. So don’t forget to get your coffee and snacks before you tee off. There are now house baked goods, wraps, sandwiches and the like available daily, and the staff have been trained on making the perfect brew.
The install for our audio visual upgrade is complete. We have already been able to show some sporting events on the huge projection screen. This technology allows for plug and play and will be a great asset in attracting more functions. All in all the future is looking bright for the Gosford Golf Club.
